Eddy Pearson Eddy Pearson – Co-Founder and Principal

Mr. Pearson has 30 years of industry experience, both with large and small oil and gas Exploration and Production companies. Mr. Pearson graduated from Texas Tech University in May, 1981, with a B.S. in Geophysics. Then, he went to work for Getty Oil Company in Midland, Texas. Mr. Pearson then went to work for TXO Production Corp in 1984, transferring to its Tyler office in 1989 as District Geophysicist. Upon the merger of Marathon Oil and TXO in 1990, Mr. Pearson worked for Marathon (receiving the ‘Special Achievement Award’), spearheading Marathon’s efforts in the Cotton Valley Reef, Smackover and Austin Chalk plays. After leaving Marathon, Mr. Pearson joined a small, privately-held company, funded with private equity money, and helped build the prospect inventory, which included Savell and Amoruso Fields.

Ray Weaver Ray Weaver – Co-Founder and Principal

Mr. Weaver has 34 years of industry experience. After graduation from Louisiana Tech in 1977 with a B.S. degree in Geology, Mr. Weaver began his career with Dresser Industries, and then went to work for LL&E. Mr. Weaver joined TXO Production Corp in 1980 and filled various management positions during the era when TXO was the most active driller onshore U.S. Mr. Weaver was supervising a staff of 15 professionals while at TXO. Upon the merger of TXO and Marathon in 1990, Mr. Weaver was recruited by EOG Resources to help open a Tyler office on its behalf. EOG Resources is currently the largest Oil and Gas Company in Tyler. After leaving EOG, Mr. Weaver joined a small, privately-held company as district manager, funded with private equity money, and helped build the prospect inventory, which included Savell and Amoruso Fields.

Carlos Roa Carlos Roa – Geology

Mr. Roa has 31 years of industry experience primarily dedicated to exploring within the onshore and offshore provinces of the Gulf of Mexico Basin. After graduating from The University of Texas at San Antonio in 1980, Carlos spent time associated with numerous successful exploratory ventures with companies such as Conoco, Florida Gas Exploration, Louisiana Land & Exploration, and Burlington Resources. Carlos held the position of senior geological advisor on the Unconventional Resources Exploration team at Burlington where he was directly responsible for one of the most significant recent discoveries of onshore domestic natural gas. Mr. Roa had an instrumental role in generating the discovery well for the Savell Field (BR #1 TBARX/Smith) in Robertson County, Texas, in March 2004. At Burlington Resources, Mr. Roa was a key contributor to the URE team developing cutting edge approaches to exploration within this trend which resulted in his generating the majority of the exploratory prospects and guiding them through Burlington Resources’ budgetary approval process. This effort led to significant discoveries and their associated proven reserve volumes. As senior geological advisor, Mr. Roa developed a geological framework of the entire Deep Bossier trend of East Texas that resulted in detailed mapping and prospect identification within this prolific trend with primary focus in Robertson County. He was also responsible for important issues such as well site evaluations, casing point selection, and open hole logging operations. In May 2006, Carlos was recruited by Leor Energy LP to become Vice President of Exploration where he was instrumental in the direction of the exploration and development efforts of the Amoruso field in conjunction with Encana Corporation.

Wayland Crawley Wayland Crawley – Land

Mr. Crawley has 34 years of industry experience. Mr. Crawley graduated from Texas A&M Commerce with a BS in Industrial Technology in 1973. After a brief stint as an industrial engineer, Wayland spent the years from 1977 – 1989 as an independent landman where he was responsible for acquiring oil and gas leases for numerous independent oil & gas companies. In 1989 Mr. Crawley began working at TXO Production Corp. as their in house landman responsible for East Texas and did so through their merger with Marathon Oil Company in 1990. In 2000 Mr. Crawley took early retirement from Marathon and went to work for EOG Resources, Inc. as a Senior Landman and Division Land Manager. Worth, Texas where he supervised the work of 70 Independent Landmen and was responsible for negotiating leases of approximately 300,000 acres. In 2005 Mr. Crawley was promoted to Division Land Manager of EOG’s Tyler division where he focused on acquiring leases in East Texas and North Louisiana. In 2007, Wayland was asked to return to Fort Worth, TX to manage a new EOG division called Ft. Worth New Ventures where he acquired 200,000 acres in 5 months. He returned to Tyler in July where he continued to manage EOG’s efforts in East Texas until he retired in December 2007.
